Spring Term 2022

14 January 2022

Dear Parents/Guardians

Welcome back to a brand-new term and happy New Year to you all.

I’d like to share my gratitude for your patience and support at the start of this term towards the staggered start to allow for on-site testing. We tested over 900 students in the three days and were very fortunate to only have three positive results. This is testament to your ongoing efforts of the twice weekly testing at home – so thank you from all of us.

Please continue to test children twice a week at home. This is one of the key steps to us keeping school open with as many of your children’s timetabled teachers as possible and ‘business as usual’.

We continue to follow the guidance set out to us by the government with increased ventilation, cleaning and face coverings. The number of cases we have across the staff and students at present is low, so we hope these measures continue to support this trend.

Our focus this week in school has been “Belong – The power of our words” If you can, take a moment to speak with you child this week about how they have reflected on this. Have they felt someone has used words that are hurtful? If they have, help them with how to deal with this, emphasising the right way is to ask the others to stop.

If it is a concern, please ask if they have reported this in school. We are working hard to educate all young people of the power of words and striving to make sure all words and actions make everyone feel they belong.
