GCSE Examinations Summer 2024

Exam Timetable

GCSE exams will commence week commencing Monday 6 May 2024 with the final day of exams being Friday 21 June 2024. The timetable for these exams is included below.  Subjects that require practical exams will run these in April 2024.  Please check the Summer Exam Timetable for more information.

Contingency Days

For the Summer 2024 exam series, you are advised that you should remain available up to and including Wednesday 26 June 2024 should an awarding body need to invoke its contingency plan and reschedule an exam (this is determined by the awarding bodies, not the school).

Information for Candidates (IFC)

The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) is a membership organisation for awarding bodies. On behalf of the awarding bodies, it provides the regulations under which exams are administered.  As part of our obligations under the regulations, the JCQ requires us to share the IFC documents with all candidates. You can view all of the documents below.

Results Day

Electronic results will be published automatically at 8.00am on Thursday 22 August on EduLink One. The results will only be viewable via a student login.

An envelope containing a paper copy of the Statement of Results will be available in school to collect on the day from 10.00am - 12.00pm.

Staff will be available in school from 10.00am to deal with any specific exam/careers related guidance students may require.  All students and parents are welcome to join in the celebrations in the quad and the Hub.

What happens if a student is unable to attend school on Thursday 22 August between 10.00am – 12.00pm?

Uncollected envelopes will be available for collection from the main reception from Tuesday 3rd September onwards, only during school hours (8:30am - 4pm). If an envelope is not collected by Friday 18th October, it will be securely disposed of.

Can a student nominate another person to collect their statement of results on their behalf?

If students would like their results to be collected by another nominated person (i.e. not the student) either on Thursday 22 August or from Wednesday 4 September onwards, the student should complete the following online form https://forms.office.com/e/G9453aRzHq using their Esher High School Microsoft Login.   This request MUST be received by 9.00am Wednesday 21 August 2024.  The request may not be processed if received after this date. When a pre-arranged nominated person collects a student’s statement of results, they should bring photo identification with them (e.g. a driver’s license or passport).

More information about what happens after results are published/collected can be found in the guidance document below.
