Autumn Term 2021
10 September 2021
It has been an absolute thrill and privilege for me to welcome students and staff back over the last two weeks as Head of School. I want to thank you all for your support with the staggered start we had to implement to ensure we followed the government guidelines of testing all students on their return from the summer break. We continue to follow all advice in place for reducing the risk of spreading Coronavirus and we have communicated this to students on their return.
It was lovely to be able to speak to our Year 7 parents this week at our Meet the Tutor Evening. We also have a Year 10 Curriculum event coming up next week that will be a recorded event shared online.
We are currently reviewing the way we conduct Parents’ Evenings this year. I would like to get your feedback on whether they should remain online or return to “in person” in the Sports Hall. Please use this link to complete a one question survey to help us in our decision making.
I have encouraged all students during assemblies this week to live out part of our motto for this year of “Be More”. There are some great opportunities for students to do this featured throughout this bulletin. Do encourage your children to get involved in the wider curriculum this year and perhaps push themselves out of their comfort zone to try a new activity!
I am delighted at how well students have returned to their learning this week. It has been lovely to see them back in their specialist teaching rooms with restrictions eased and continuing to develop their knowledge and skills. Do follow our social media accounts to keep up to date with the amazing experiences that are happening day in day out, as we will be adding new insights throughout this term.
