Year 7 Transition September 2026
Your Head of Year: Mr Burton
Mr Burton will be your Head of Year. He's excited to welcome you all to our school community and the start of your exciting journey in Year 7. You'll see Mr Burton regularly during assemblies and tutor time and he'll help you make the best of your time in secondary school. Mr Burton is also a PE teacher at Esher High School.
Primary School Visits
If you are joining from one of our local primary schools (Chandlers Field, Claygate, Cranmere, Esher Church, Hurst Park, St Lawerence, Long Ditton St Mary's or Thames Ditton Junior) we will arrange for our colleagues to visit the school to talk to the children and their Year 6 teachers about the transition and answer their questions. Our transition team will be joined by 2 of our Year 7 students, who are alumni from the primary school to share their experiences.
If you are not joining from one of these schools or are new to the area, you will receive an invitation to a "mini induction event" we will host at Esher High School. This will be an opportunity to meet other children and families in a similar situation.
Induction Day: Tuesday 30 June
For all of our children joining in September, our main Induction Day will be Tuesday 30 June. We are looking forward to welcoming them for a full day at their new school. The day will start at 8.45am and finish at 3.30pm. You will receive all the information by email nearer the time. Parents will have their own Induction event in the evening!
Summer Camp: Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 September
We love hosting Summer Camp for our new Year 7 students! It's a fabulous opportunity for the children to make new friends, learn their way around the school site and have fun.
Start of September
Our Year 7 students start officially at Esher Church of England High School on Thursday 3 September. The rest of the school will return on Friday 4 September, so that's another day for you all to settle in.
