Hot weather arrangements Friday 26 June 2026

Please see message from Mr King regarding Friday 26 June.

Dear Families

Thank you for your understanding this week, as we navigate these high temperatures. We have made an adjustment to our initial plans for tomorrow (Friday) due to the forecast, UK Health Security Agency red alert extension, temperatures recorded in classrooms this week (without 30 bodies contributing) and the impact on staffing levels for a range of reasons.

Year 7, 8 and 9 will remain learning via the online provision for Friday.

We are pleased to welcome Year 10 back to school on Friday to sit the scheduled exams as published. These will be re-roomed to air-conditioned spaces in school.

Students will sit their English Literature and Chemistry exams. At the registration bell (8:40am), students should go promptly to their tutor room, they will sit in the same seats that they sat in during Tuesday’s exams.

We strongly encourage students to bring water bottles to keep hydrated.

School buses will run as normal for Friday.

Year 10 students will have the option to be collected between 1.15-1.45pm. If you are going to collect or give permission for your child to leave early, you will need to complete the form - this must be completed by 8am on Friday morning. Period 5 lessons for year 10 will be re-roomed to the air-conditioned spaces.

Please also note that the timetable for next week has been amended to include the rearranged Option B exam. A copy of the updated timetable is shown below and was also shared with all year 10 students in their tutor time on Tuesday.

If you require a place in school for your child in year 7 to year 9, this is still available. Sign up using the form sent home previously.

We look forward to welcoming all students back to school on Monday.
