2026 GCSE Results: Sustained Success at Esher High

Esher Church of England High School is celebrating another year of strong achievement in this summer’s GCSE and vocational examinations, reflecting the sustained improvements the school has made over the past five years.

The results demonstrate that life-changing outcomes are possible for students at Esher High. Across the year group, students have secured the qualifications they need to progress confidently to sixth form, college, apprenticeships and the next stage of their education.

In the key measures of English and Mathematics, 74% of students achieved grade 4 or above in both subjects, with 48% achieving grade 5 or above in both. In English, 85% of students achieved grade 4 or above and 72% achieved grade 5 or above. In Mathematics, 78% achieved grade 4 or above and 51% achieved grade 5 or above.

Headteacher, Mr Andy King, said:

“I am incredibly proud of our students and everything they have achieved. These results reflect their resilience, commitment and hard work, as well as the encouragement they have given one another throughout their time with us. This year’s outcomes continue the significant and sustained improvement we have seen at Esher High over the past five years. Most importantly, they show that life-changing outcomes are possible here. Our students leave us with the qualifications, confidence and character to take their next steps with real ambition.”

There have been some exceptional individual achievements, alongside many equally important successes from students who have met or exceeded their own personal targets. The list below celebrates our highest-achieving students, this includes Level 2 vocational distinction-star grades as equivalent top grades and counts both awards within Combined Science.

Mr King added:

“While we are delighted to celebrate these exceptional academic performances, today is about every student. For some young people, achieving a grade 4 represents just as significant a personal triumph as achieving the very highest grades. Behind every result is an individual story of effort, perseverance and progress. These achievements are also a testament to the expertise and dedication of our staff and to the unwavering support provided by our students’ families. Together, we have created a school community in which young people can belong, achieve more than they imagined possible and look to the future with confidence.”
