This year, 80% of all GCSE and Level 2 qualifications were achieved at grade 4 and above. A whopping 6% increase on last year. 80% of students achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and Maths, a 4.5% increase on last year’s impressive performance. Students secured an incredible 155 grade 9s – up from 100 in 2024. We are also so proud that they achieved 29% of grades (643 total) at grade 7 and above, a 7% increase on last year.

Headteacher, Mr Andy King, said:
“I am immensely proud of our students. They have shown such resilience, commitment and determination throughout their education with us, and today we see the reward for all that hard work. These results are truly outstanding, and every student should be proud of what they have achieved. Not only are they leaving with well-deserved results, but they have developed and grown into amazing young people who will continue to thrive and achieve great things in whatever path they choose.”

Mr King added “These successes are a testament not only to our students’ efforts, but also to the dedication of our staff and the support of families. Together we have created an environment where our young people can flourish, and today we celebrate their achievements as a whole school community.”

At lunch break there was music from the Funk Band, photo-booths, game-stalls and even a mini-cinema all.  Keep checking back for the total amount raised for the charity selected by Capella students: Cancer Research.  We're still busy counting!!

On Saturday afternoon, we welcomed Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury to our school to meet a local audience.  It was a unique opportunity to put questions to the Archbishop and hear him speak on how to find security and hope in uncertain times.

Part 2 later this week when they travel to the coast!  Let's hope the weather is just as sunny.

Great effort everyone for an amazing cause.

The Performing Arts department are delighted to announce an exciting new development within the Arts Centre.  Over the course of the Summer, Studio 3 was transformed from a Drama studio to a multi-purpose performance space.  

If you were unable to attend our Open Evening, or would like to see our school in action, we are hosting Open Mornings on Monday 11, Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 October between 9.30 and 11am.  There is no need to pre-book for our Open Mornings.

As we are required to test all students with the asymptomatic Covid-19 tests twice at the beginning of term, we will bring each year group in one day at a time with testing undertaken in the Sports Hall before students resume their lessons. 

The school day will start each day at the normal time of 8.45am.

The students prepared everything from scratch, and served bacon rolls, eggs benedict and egg wraps.

The food was delicious, despite it being their first catered event.  We all hope it won't be their last!!

A huge well done to the students and thank you to the staff who supported them.

Isobel even felt compelled to paint a lovely picture of a flower.

Day one was a very wet affair, with visibility down to a few metres at times. The students handled this navigation with great skill and enthusiasm.  For the final two days they enjoyed beautiful sunny weather. Their Assessor stated that they were an “excellent group”.  It's been a challenging year for our Duke of Edinburgh students and we're very proud of their achievement, with the continued support from Mr Balistrari.
