EHS celebrates the efforts and excellence of students

Presentation evening on the 11th May celebrated the effort and excellence of students’ in years 7-10 at Esher High School. Multiple awards were given out with the overall year prizes being awarded to the following students;

Year 7 – Ammena Miah

Year 8 – Mabel Koster

Year 9 – Josephine Shaw

Year 10 – Oscar Roberts

Mr Gower used the song ‘Lippy kids’ by Elbow as his theme for the key note speech. The song is about growing up, challenges young people face along the way and how they are often viewed negatively by aspects of society . The chorus however, provides a voice of encouragement with the haunting line ‘build a rocket boys’. The line is metaphorical and encourages to aim high and dream big.

We would like to say a huge congratulations to all the prize winners.

Now, go build your rocket!
