Expressing a Concern

Here at Esher C of E High School, we aim to foster a positive relationship between the parents/carers of our students and our staff; this relationship is based on mutual respect and an understanding that both parties have the child’s best interests at heart.

In most cases the first point of contact for parents, carers and students is the Form Tutor.  The Form Tutors are constantly monitoring the development and well-being of their group.  If the Form Tutor is teaching or absent, then the next point of contact should be the Head of Year.  We will always do our best to put your through to someone who can help, but if the relevant staff are teaching there may be times when you have to leave a message and we will endeavour to call you back within 24 hours.

It is also possible to log your concern on the Parent Portal.  Any concerns relating to the Head Teacher should be sent to the Chair of Governors at chairofgovernors@esherhigh.surrey.sch.uk.

All issues raised will be treated seriously and courteously.  Any investigation will be impartial and dealt with as quickly as possible, normally within a week.   However, if a concern becomes a complaint then we follow Surrey County Council’s procedure ‘Responding to concerns about Academies in Surrey, Guidance for parents, carers and the general public’.  This guidance is available to download from this page.

Surrey County Council recommends that expressing views relating to an 'ongoing' concern on social networking sites e.g. Facebook, Twitter etc is avoided, as their use is likely to impact the impartiality of the investigation for all parties.
