PE KIT EXPECTATIONS AND FAQS
Below are some frequently asked questions we find pupils getting confused about.
Please have a read to find out what you will need for your PE lessons and extra-curricular clubs. If you still find yourself confused just ask one of your PE teachers.
WHAT DO I NEED TO WEAR IN MY LESSONS AND CLUBS?
Pupils at EHS need to be prepared for all lessons inside, outside and in any weather! As is stated in the school uniform guidance all pupils are expected to have and wear the following kit, labelled fully with their name;
- EHS crested red polo shirt,
- Plain black shorts or tracksuit bottoms,
- Black EHS sweatshirt or zip up tracksuit,
- A pair of sports trainers (not plimsolls or casual trainers),
- A pair of football boots,
- Swimming kit (1 piece suit, towel, goggles and pool shoes),
- Red EHS football socks or plain white socks.
- Black EHS dance T-shirt for KS3
- Optional items;
- Plain black or white under layers or skins,
- Red EHS beanie hat and gloves (used at teachers discretion),
- EHS red rugby shirt (optional, although needed if playing rugby).
In line with the school uniform policy, alternatives to the above will not be allowed and where pupils forget to bring their kit a spare will be lent out by the department. It is also required that no students wear jewellery of any kind during their PE lessons and that long hair is tied back.
WHAT IF I FORGET MY PE KIT?
If you forget your PE kit we will ask you to hand in your organiser as a deposit and we will lend you one. We have invested a lot of money in new spare kit and we ensure it is washed after use. Over the course of a half term if you forget your kit once you will be given a black warning sticker in your planner. If you forget a second time you will be issued a red sticker and an after school detention. Every subsequent time you forget your kit in that half term you will be set another after school detention and home will be contacted.
WHAT IF I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY KIT?
If you have a problem with your kit you will need to provide a note from home to explain the issue. We will lend you one for that lesson in exchange for you planner but you will not be issued with a warning or detention sticker.

WHAT IF I HAVE AN INJURY AND I THINK I WILL STRUGGLE IN LESSONS?
A written note of explanation is required. In such circumstances you will be expected, where reasonable, to change into your PE kit and take an active but limited role within the lesson eg. umpiring, leading or assessing the work of your peers. Any pupil with a long term injury may be asked to provide a doctor’s note for our records and information on restrictions.
WHAT IF I HAVE OLD EHS KIT THAT I CAN'T USE ANYMORE?
Any donations of old EHS kit and trainers are always appreciated and can be given to any member of the PE department.
